Hi guys I ain't been on here that much since owning my car but I just thought I would post some photos of my Chim. Hope you like them.

Looks tidy, similar colour to mine. Not a fan of black wheels on dark paint generally, but the Imolas look ok in black against the blue actually.

Are you going to keep it standard or do you have plans?

Funny most don't like the darker wheels but that's the first thing that caught my eye, I was thinking of getting the rocker covers and Plenum painted along with a upgrade to the hoses, toying with the idea of upgrading the cams and heads as well. Have you done anything to yours ?

Like the interior colour combination, when I get mine re-trimmed I will go for that.

It is nice when others appreciate your car no doubt, but it does'nt really matter as long as you like it. Plenty of differing opinions when it comes to TVR's I've found.

Plenums and hoses are a good starting point to get the engine bay looking good....its addictive when you start! Difficult to say which way to go with performance mods...so much choice really but depends on what you want to achieve and more likely in line with how deep your pockets are.

I think it's important to have light colours if you can. It gets so hot in side the car the last thing I would want would be black lather as well lol. Not so good when the roof is down lol.

What would you recommend ? I don't want to go crazy but would like to have it a little more responsive.

if you simply want better response lighten the flywheel makes a fair difference for little cost if you can do the spanner work yourself,plus make sure engine is generally running spot on lots i see are well down on power just for lack of service and set up.

There will be plenty of ideas and opinions on what you can do...all of which will have merit, but thats a good shout right there as far as making sure everything is running spot on. Worth doing away with the extenders if you still have them and changing maybe to the racetech ceramic leads, good oe dizzy cap and arm, check/replace the plugs. Simple stuff really. But IMO would say get it on a rolling road first to see whats its putting out there and subject to that result an overall health check...they all run differently and lots of variables involved.

Theres lots of things you can spend money on for small gains, trumpets, larger plenums, larger afm's but in isolation I'm not sure its always worth the outlay, plus if you don't get it re-mapped you won't get the best out of some of the mods anyway.

I've found at least that once you know where your starting from and have a sound base its easier to know if you want a little gain or alot! Then you can make an informed choice before you get in too deep and spend twice or three times.

Do you know of any place I can get it put on the rollers and then set up ? Thanks for the info.

Nice, similar age and colour scheme to mine except for the wheels.
Making sure everything is in fine fettle is a good starting point. I put mine on the rollers at Neil Garners open day soon after I bought it and made 168bhp which was well down on power. After lots of servicing over the next year changing just about every consumable part (filters, Ht leads, plugs, fluids, coil, clutch etc etc) I again had it on the same rollers at the same event the following year and got 232bhp....

It was a one off constructed for a friends cerb, he never fitted it and I modified it to fit the chim.

Paris Blue was a lot lighter, more of an ice blue.

Can't argue with engineer1949. You may want to look at swapping out the electronic controls - ecu etc... - for something like Megasquirt (for the DIYer) or one of the packages offered by the tuners.

The TVR set can be 'tempremantal' and can be simplified.

Numerous peeplu on here are running Megasquirt and report a marked inprovement in running once fitted - although a few have been fitted as they couldn't trace rough running issues so the improvement was expected!

After that, well the sky's the limit on costs and options.

Capacity increase, forced induction, gas flowing, de-catting (full and part) ..........................................................
