Wheel Alignment

Took the P&J in for an alignment the other day. Was told it was all ok apart from the O/S/R which had a "slight toe-in" but nothing to worry about.

I asked for a print-out of the results but their machine was faulty and I had to wait. I now have it and I'm a bit worried.

For example it says under 'Specifications' that front caster should be a minimum of zero degrees and a maximum of one degree. Mine has in excess of five degrees on each side.

Front camber should be between one and two degrees, mine are between minus one and two degrees.

And so on.

Just how far out in real terms are the figures quoted above? There are a total of eleven (required) settings quoted on this report and the readings from my car match not one of them.

I've no wish to clog the forum with all the data but if someone who understands this properly could tell me how much of a problem I have (if any) I'd be grateful.

I am getting my tracking checeked at the weekend and I will be going on the bible figures, which you quoted.

Have you changed the shocks from the standard as I understand the set up will be completely different with say Nitrons.

No, they're still standard (can't afford new ones at the moment).

I did find out that the values I quoted (from the printout) were wrong. I spoke to them today and they said they were left there from the last vehicle they checked but that they compared my readings with data obtained direct from TVR.

I've asked them to confirm exactly what they think the correct settings should be.
