Um, battery is connected to the chassis underneath the carpet where the passengers right shin would be and the engine is earthed to the outrigger supporting bar behind the right wheel. Think that's it...

Easier to just stick a multimeter between the rocker cover and the bolt through the top wishbone than take the wheel off, I'd do it that way for the battery too or you'll be ripping carpet up smile

• O/S front of chassis through bodywork.
• O/S of engine timing cover.
• O/S chassis outrigger strut. Engine earth point from timing cover.
• N/S rear of cylinder head.
• N/S top of tunnel.
• O/S top of tunnel. (Both in line with the heater vents on tunnel).
• N/S upper bolt rear of chassis behind fuel tank.

If you have issues with a particular circuit I may well be able to tell you which earth point(s) are used.

Can't for the life of me remember dealing with a gearbox earth when I changed my clutch, think that I've blocked most of my memory from that day due to the emotional trauma though hehe

No harm in adding one you cant have enough grounds/earth returns IMO I have 6 inc 2 from chassis to batt neg - direct plus 1 direct from batt - to engine block

Why earth something that has a good earth?
Adding weight to a vehicle does reduce its top speed

And yet people never seem to think on this when adding huge brakes!! and those large brake rotors sure do weigh a lot.

Of course I am not guilty of this and it is simply not true that both my MGF's run with 304mm front discs and AP calipers. Nope .

even if the AP's calipers are alloy and thus ighter than the steel OE ones. hehe

After market ECU you see, decent ground returns avoiding voltage offsets etc smile adding weight confused whats the weight of a few extra ground straps weight wise? scratchchin
