My Chim has been SORN since 2015 because my circumstances sort of conspired against using it last year.
However, last week I picked up the phone and called Classicline, result £304 including recovery, so I went for it, starting today.

Last night after work I Got on the blower to book a test for 9am. Got the wheels on, correct pressures, lowered onto terra firma, whereupon it smartly made a beeline for the end of the garage with me sat on my arse vainly trying to grab the bumper to no effect, some good paint scuffs on the wing. What a prize pillock, that'll teach me to chock it. It has largely tee-cut out apart from the deep stuff. Such is life, it could be far worse.

Anyway off I set this morning about 15 miles on old petrol to the test garage up the A1, a few goes on the brakes to clean up the disks. Apart from new oil, hotter plugs and a chassis clean it hadn't been touched all that time but it drives like I use it daily. As has been the case in my ownership, the emissions were very clean, no oil leaks, tester was full of surprise along with his mates at its condition, he could find no faults so this minor triumph has offset my annoyance from slowly crashing it the night before.

On the way back home I diverted into the local aerodrome to see what was going on and as I was pulling up near this to have a gander, the pilot of this incredible (£80m) beast accosted me as he was a an ex Tivver himself and was wanting back in.

He suggested to me parking it in front for a photo so I threw him the keys and asked him to do it instead. The crew were a really friendly bunch and I was impressed with their relaxed attitude given today's security situation, had I the gall to ask a seat in the cockpit I'm sure I would have been allowed.

All in all, life gets more interesting when a TVR is present.

It was seriously impressive even before I got up close. Pilot is only 29! He was telling me about the 3 several thousand horsepower engines which are not able to be fully opened up because of its Italian gearbox which cannot take it. biggrin
