What is best for water pump and thermostat housing? cheers, John. PS I'm still trying to chisel off the old water pump gasket, must have been put on with superglue!!!

As thin as you can get it but still be an even film. Applied to both surfaces and left to tack dry as the solvent flashes off.

Dont worry too much about the level of the sealant being out a bit, be sure to use a torque wrench when refitting the pump

Don't use it on the bolts, the gasket + sealant makes the seal, the bolts/studs/nuts hold it together
