Laughable really..... Pulled on the drive last night, went to turn off lights, pushed the buttons through the dash! followed by

Can anyone advise the easiest way to fix the problem and what sort of fixing I have broken? Screw? Glue? TVR blue tack?

I have my bets on removing the stereo. It’s only the right hand side of the three-button cluster, which has become loose. I.e. button nearest the steering wheel is pushed far in the dash and the button nearest the passenger is only just out of position! Any other car and I’d have gone mad, suppose you can't when it’s a TVR. It’s expected.

take out the stereo and see 4 screws holding on the wooden panel, remove these and try to catch the little bit of metal that used to hold the light switch on. Clean it up and glue it back on with araldite leave over night then hope you stuck it on in the right place, oh! and dont tell any of the people who laughed at you when you said you were going to buy a hand built british sports car im sure it always happens in bmws

did the same about 2 months back as chimtvr says take out the stereo and undo the 4 screws and the panel comes away, I did mine with araldite and no probs since

Did that last night (you pair were right on the money).....only problem is the small bracket that has broken from the alloy trim (not walnut) is nowhere to be seen! DOH

you should be able to make one out of a bit of metal very easily its exactly the same as the outside one on the hazard light switch

Yep, been there, mates pi55ing themselves laughing, got Joospeed to fix it while it was in for some other stuff.

Sorted! A lad at work made a new metal bracket with some tin snips and I paid £3.95 for some araldite. Dash spent the weekend on the kitchen window sill with a big "Do Not Touch Sign" and all the people who walked down the drive at the weekend decided to tell me someone had nicked my stereo!
