Bit of advice/help please.

I need to remove both of my front dampers so that they can be rebuilt. The problem is I cant get both off in my garage due to lack of room. If I put the car on the drive to do it then it will be stuck there for a week & won't be insured under the terms of my policy.
The only way of doing it that I can see is to fit an old pair so that I can roll it back into the garage.
Any one in the South east got a knackered pair of dampers I can use. Any help welcome.

Why not just phone the insurance company and explain the situation to them. If they know that it will be un-driveable then they may well be ok with it.

May end up having to do that but I'd prefer to keep it under cover if at all possible.

If everything is flat (and you are brave) you could replace the shocks with some 3"x2" timber stuck between the mounts (cut to length) whilst on the drive, then carefully roll the car back into the garage.

I've got a pair of front (and back if you need them too) TVR S shocks with springs which should do the trick.

Where exactly in the 'South East' are you ?
