Oil Types - advice please

Hi

I am new to TVR ownership, bought my first TVR, a Red 4 Litre Chim one week ago and i want to give her a complete service fluid change, these are the fluids i was thinking of using, Any advice would be truly welcome

Engine - Mobil 1 Motorsport
Gearbox Rover Box - Mobil ATF SHC
Diff - Mobil SHC 80w140 ID
Brakes - Dot 5.1

Pete - as far as engine oil is concerned, I hear the distant sound of a whole can of worms being opened!

It's proabably best to do a search of the Fora for that one...

Have you checked the Bible re the other fluids (useful advice in there on engine oil too)? From memory, it gives very detailed advice on each of things that you've asked about...

Thanks but i Haven't got a bible,

They are out of stock apparently, except maybe the TVRCC but i only joined yesterday so i can't even get into the regalia section to look untill they send me the first magazine.

I use magnatec myself as recommended to me by the dealer I bought from, no probs so far

FWIW, I also use Magnatec/Valvoline semi-synth ((15w-40) and have no problems with either.

IIRC, David Batty recommends Magnatec and Austec recommend Valvoline (although this is hard to get hold of and Magnatec is recommended as a substitute).
