coolant from the wrong orifices !

The search function is still down so to save a lot of time any help would be appreciated.
Reconnected the heating system which was disconnected by the previous owner,everything has been operating okay for the last couple of weeks,now it appears that the matrix has failed and is pushing coolant out of the two air vents at knee height.
Bypassed the heater again and everything is okay.I have removed the passenger seat and want to remove the unit and repair/replace.I know that someone has already done this job on there own car so any info would be appreciated.
