For far to long I've left my radio panel looking like this. Radio isn't even wired up
I have the two L shaped brackets with fixing holes drilled I'm assuming you bond them onto the metal backing of the panel and then screw them in place either side of radio. Looks very fiddly, is this the correct way or is there a better method.
thanks

Yes your L shape brackets grue to the rear of the panel. To locate them I screwed them in place to the dash aperture (pay attention to the way the tabs point) and then added some rapid epoxy to them and held the fascia panel in place while it went off. Cover your vinyl in cling film so the epoxy doesn't run down and glue it all together.

Excellent. Thanks for the cling film tip.
So once it's bonded I assume to remove it in future you use a small screw driver to remove brackets after removing stereo. 5 years I've owned it, superstitious and believe if I leave at least one small job to be fixed the car will live with that and not break bigger things biggrin
Thanks smile

Yes I fitted mine to the dash panel before I fitted any of the switches or radio cage. You then unscrew the brackets once set and you can let it fully cure. I mistakenly assumed that the radio cage fitted to the dash panel rather than directly into the fibreglass hole (probably obvious to others)

Not sure if you've had it off already or not but this is what it looks like.

Yes I've had it off before hehe
A long time ago though wink
Yes I do know how it all looks.
It was bonding it I wasn't sure about and you've confirmed what I thought.
Thanks very much and excellent pics for info.

No Probs,

Don't forget to key the parts with rough sandpaper before you glue them. I didn't first go and the bond failed while screwing it in place.

I'm not one for these fiddly jobs.
But I've done it.
Wired up the stereo and it even works.

Great advice posted above and if it wasn't for cling film I'd now have epoxy resin everywhere.

Naff pic
I also have to get some glue off but it's coming smile

First time since 2010 that's happened.
Love the light show hehe

What did I say in the second post down. I always leave the radio un fixed as the car doesn't play up.
Soon as I fix the stereo, clutch goes caputt,,,, Christine I'm telling you! wink
