Before anyone tells me to search previous forums, I have done already and have taken on board all the good advice, but I didnt find any mention of my particular symptoms.
Both footwells are leaking, and I've discovered water in the bottom of the door (drivers side). The roof appears to be well sealed, water beading nicely when using hose test, no obvious leaks into car.
On one of the posts it mentioned water can get into the sills? If so, how and where from? Can they be sealed? What about the door locks etc?
Armed myself with old newspapers, silica gel and dehumidifiers till problem resolved. Also ordered a Covercraft Weathershield tailored cover.
PS. Fitted the new Leven wipers earlier this week and they are great, highly recommend.

Open the bonnet. On the driver's side is a small black hump on the wing, which contains the clutch master cylinder.
Make sure its well sealed or water will get in.
Also check all electrical cables and others that head from the engine bay into the interior of the car, check that the grommets are all sound. A bit of silicone above each grommet can deflect water that runs down the bodywork around the grommet.

Another common entry point is around the Brake master cylinder, the seal must be good here otherwise wet feet are to be expected.
Mine has done 60 k miles in the 1st 3 years of ownership and has obviously been out in all weathers. with no signs of previous leaks, just plenty of silicon under the bonnet to prevent any water getting in. Not pretty, but effective

The drivers door had substantuial amount of water in, where are these drain holes?
Wouldn't it require quite a protracted time for water to get in through the master cylinder on the drivers side wing? Surely that would only leak into the drivers side?
The drivers side is wetter than the passenger, but both pretty damp. The door leak leads me to believe it may be coming in throuigh the door to the sills? Is that possible, or possibly they are just related, not directly though?
I have found part of the hood on the passenger side has come away from frame, near the door above the velcro, about 1 inch in length. Whats good for sealing it?

Can I suggest that you remove the carpets right away, and keep them out of the car until matters have been resolved? Otherwise you'll never get rid of the smell, and you'll likely have to get new carpets (as people check these when buying the car, if they're water-damaged it reduces the chances of a sale).
As for the roof, I reckon you'd have to post pictures. Do you mean on the 'B Pillar'? I had my rear window replaced recently, they used a very strong contact adhesive to stick the material back onto the rollbar. I'd suggest you get somebody to do it for you, as its easy to get glue where it shouldn't be...

I found two major leaks. The first was through the stiching around the rear screen. Sorted with Autoglym soft top cleaner and conditioner. The second was, as mentioned previously from around brakefluid reservoir. Give it a good clean and reseal around the egde. You mention leven wipers ??? What conversion do they do ??
Is it just washers as i have been told in the past or a motor/mechanism and arms etc ??? Mine are standard, tired and PANTS !!!!!

stuff's brilliant. clean the winscreen thoroughly before application to remove all grease.
you'll do 70 in heavy rain, with no wipers on at all, and wonder how you ever managed to drive in the rain without it.
word of warning though - watching the rain going over the top of the windscreen can be quite mesmeric - remember to look where you're going!
