Oil level question

Got my car back from its service and the oil level is about 1cm above the max level after standing a while.
I didn't want to drive it until I get the 'extra' taken out, what do you people think?
I had a go at getting the sump plug out today and its on too tight for the leverage I could get without a ramp.
I'm guessing it will need about a litre out of it, does this sound about right?

My guess is 1cm would not hurt cats etc. I think I'd be tempted to let the next 1,000 miles take care of it.

Why not get the garage to rectify it?

The garage is 40 miles away, I was just going to get it done at a local (non TVR) one.
I was worried about any damage that might occur to the engine.
I do have to drive near the garage on Tuesday so I might pop it in then.

Dont worry, the main problem is the excess oil blowing the oil seals in the engine, but only 1 cm wont make much diff

Obvious question, but was the car completely level when you measured the oil? The road I'm on has a very steep camber, and I have to move teh car to measure oil!
