Hello all been a very very long time since I have posted. Hope you are all doing well.
Still have the 4.3 chimaera and shes running well.
High idle...I've played around with the alan key bolt for the idle control but doesn't seem to affect the idle at all....when I am driving around town and come to a traffic light, the car will constantly idle above 1000+ rpm and wont go down to its normal tick over speed...what is thissss...?
Kind Regards
Chris

You need to get yourself plugged into RoverGauge.
I'm betting it will show that the ECU thinks you are still moving whilst you are actually parked.
What is happening is the ECU has a (sort of) anti stall function. The idea is that when you come of the motorway on a trailing throttle and dip the clutch at the end of the slip lane the engine stays at around 1000-1200 revs until you actually come to a standstill where it will gently bring the revs down to 800-900 revs.
The ECU gets a speed signal from a small box behind the speedo. The box has been known to have issues.
RoverGauge will show if this is actually what is happening.
Also you can use RG to test the correct operation of the stepper motor idle valve.
