Fuel Hose R6 or R9 and pipe size

With the continuing build project, chassis is coming together now and fuel lines & pipes need to be all replaced. My query is what hose is best R6 or R9? Also the size is 8mm pipe??
I have also read that the hose from tank to fuel pump suction is larger at 12mm??
If anyone has replaced all with sizes and length information this would be greatly appreciated.

Your sizes are correct
I only use this supplier nowadays for 5/16 - 8mm which is what you want in R9 spec (no connection obviously) even if you choose not to make sure you go for a recognised brand Gates,Cohline,Goodyear,Contitech,Pirelli etc http://www.flexiducting.co.uk/products/goodyear-r9...

You really need to get a torch down the back of the plenum and see where the hoses end. Because they can be so difficult to get at many who have changed these hoses have cut the copper/cunifer pipe back so that it terminates down the side of the chassis where it is easier to fit the hose.If you want to terminate where they normally end then it is best to remove the plenum first to give better access.

That would not be my choice. Problem is the copper pipe will be pretty much unsupported all the way up and over the bell housing. Copper hardens both with age and vibration and can fracture.If you can get at the end of the copper pipe to put a compression fitting on then you can easily fit the new hose there.
Make sure you use hose from a recognised manufacturer. We use 'Gates Barricade'.

The copper lines are not that hard to replace, they do take an awkward route at the rear of the car but the 8mm tube is fairly easy to form.
Id consider extending at the engine bay end if it could be supported somewhere from leaving the chassis to engine, difficult to see if this is possible without removing the plenum etc but something im considering doing as its much easier to keep an eye on the condition.
