Ally Dash

I've been thinking about replacing the dash with an ally one and looking at some of the threads and thoughts on colour combos n whether it'll work or not.

Has anyone seen or have one with Navy and Magnolia trim? Thats what i've got but would really like to see a pic of that combo before parting with that much folding!

I'm looking to change the one on mine, but my cars Yellow with Yellow dials and nice Sage green carpets etc which will look the Mutts, a couple of poeple i know have shied away from Bue and Magnolia because they didnt think it would look right...

Horses for courses i guess !!

Where'd you get that from, i'm not sure i like that style of Ally, i was thinking of doing either swirled Ally or checkerplate ??

do you have problems with glare when the sun is full on the dash? I have heard that some alu on the dash has a tendency to cause problems!

Hi Gill,

Not at all. My dash is actually buffed rather than the polished machined ally that some people have. TBH I actually prefer it to the machined dashes and there is no glare at all, in fact I've seent polished veneers that glare more than mine.
PS are you up for the Northants run as per my e-mail to you?

Think I quite like that combi now i've seen yours, where did you get your dash from? So far I've only seen the Leven ones.

Hi Rich,
The dash was actually fitted to the car when I purchased it, I'll try to dig out his details and give him a call as I've had a few people ask about it.
It's actually stainless steel so doesn't have the glary polished look of aluminium.

I must admit I really am torn between getting a traditional dash in a light wood or an ally one, I think yours looks very swish.
Not sure about the northants run, I am spending too much time in the tiv ( as if!) and not enough time with Rob on the bike! also have 40th birthday bash on the 7th which entails me taking my mates husband out for a blat in the tiv as a present. But i'll see.

Has anyone considered a blonde wood dash, Ala Volvo T5/T5R/850R dash ??

Wont work on every chim, but could be good on a Yellow one

Possibly one of the TVR-supplied ones. Yours for about £250 + VAT if memory serves. I think TVR do (or did) three different finishes (none of which is the same as the Leven one).

TVR have stopped selling them and Leven only do one type now, kinda ally with little dots on it, i want Swirls or plain brushed Ally, any ideas guys ??


If your Chim was in the TVR centre today they were all beavering away on them all !!
