Hi, per chance has anyone on here run 205/40r17 fronts and 225/45r17 rears on track before and can give me a guide to what pressures I should be using? Off to Abingdon on Friday and trying to be meticulous!

What make of tyre are you using.
I tend to just leave them 21/24 and as soon as I come in feel how hot they are then decide.

40 profile on the fronts being fairly minimal I wouldn’t want to remove air, be non in there laugh
Have a great day smile

Is Abingdon Tarmac or concrete, if it’s concrete add air and slide about for fun,,, but don’t listen to me for gordsake.
Shocks rock hard if it’s dry but that's maybe just my preference.

You’ll need a lot of petrol so take a full jerry can or two if facilities are poor!
And a funnel hehe and rags.
Spare front pads if yours are say half way worn, they’ll be fecked in no time.
In my experience if your pads on either end of the car are not fairly new you’ll be changing them at the track and wasting good driving time.
Enjoy

Hi Mike, I would have joined you but I am at Rockingham on Saturday.
I run 22 all round on the road on standard wheels which I will leave for the morning session if it drys up enough to put the 888s on I tend to go 24 front 26 rear, probably not much help for you as you are on larger wheels. I would be interested in your opinion on the track, the airfield circuits I have done have a much coarser surface.

I'm on basic Yokohama road tyres Alun, the whole intention is to slide around and have fun- that's why I'm going to an airfield where there's nothing to crash into hehe I'm hoping it will help me learn to break out of my comfort zone when I go to proper big boy circuits! Sticky tyres can wait until I've learnt how to drive properly wobble

Cheers Trev, I'll be sure to thoroughly inspect my water pump belt now I know you're not coming laugh have a great day at Rockingham thumbup

Good on you and it’s the only way to get on top of the car is to overdrive it in SAFE places and find out how she acts.
Your on it already wink
Yes concrete can be abrasive and I’d add air.
Funnily enough Trev I also often run 22/22 on the road. smile

For ages I’ve been hoping to pop over to Rockingham as I really really want to see Incogneros Cerb with the Mbe Knock sensors fitted and his use of software for diagnostics, it’s a mega car in the flesh.
Might be working weeping
If not I’ll be there to say hello Trev.

Be good to see you Alun, I must admit I was more than a little interested to see this car in action and hopefully having a little passenger ride in it.

I must try and get along. Ill be annoying the owner over his tech to much to dare having a ride. Just happy to see it and get some gen really.

The traction control stuff stinks hehe but if it’s that powerful then fair enough really.

I’m already hoping to be working early doors so if the weather plays ball I might just get there by lunch time. Bad weather stops play.
