Put the new pump in my spare front cover and the outside ring is a bit tight is this right?
It will turn but not freely

Does it turn smoothly and is it oiled at the moment?

Your old pump may be worn slightly.

Have you got the outer gear the right way round chamfer to front cover? rather than closing steel plate wink

I'm sure it should turn freely either way.

Return it and buy from a known source, i.e., Real Steel imo.

If the beveled edge dont go face down into cover the outer gear cuts into the front cover corner shedding ali in the process frown probably caught by the filter just not something I would want floating round the oiling system, its just a suggestion for the cause of the binding scratchchin different brands may not have this design and may be symmetrical either way nerd

Yep get what your saying Simon
All looks good in both covers even the back plate isn’t too bad only very light marks
And yes it’s got the bevel on the outer gear it looks like it’s just too big

I read some while ago that there are a lot of iffy pattern parts around hence my suggestion of going to Real Steel.
