Looking for tyres for my new RS Alloys Fronts are 16" 7j and Rears 17" 7.5j

Has anyone got the same wheels? what size / type of tyres do you recommend?

I currently have Toyo Proxies on the standard 15 and 16" wheels and they are ok

Translation - Uniroyal Rainsport 3s - superb all round tyres, astounding performance all the way from monsoon conditions and standing water to dry track days.

And not over-expensive. I had a set of 235/45/17s fitted to my Saab recently by Formula 1 Autocentres for £330. The 16 fronts should be a bit cheaper then the 17s.

^^^^^^ what QBee says
I use 17in rims and use
215/45/17 F
235/45/17 R
In Rainsport 3 tyres on my daily Tvr, transformed the grip level let alone ride comfort.

I tried fitting 16” rs 7 spokes to the front of my Griff and they don’t clear the front wilwood calipers without spacers. frown

Will they clear the standard TVT tea saucers and paper clips that pass for brakes?

I think these rs 7 spokes were mk1 Ford mondeo fitment so should clear standard slide calipers.

Hi Andy,

I've used them on the Tam and Sag and thumbup from me. The only time they got 'squirrely' was on the trackday on Drive Espania. In fairness, it was in the 30's and I was staying out a long time as there were only 6 of us using the track!

That’s rather interesting Stewart, I was going to ask you if you like to take liberties and deliberately slide on the tyres, then looked at your pushbike biggrin
Safe to say you push on them then.
And very interesting they coped with the ambient heat, track temp could be near to 40d or more in those conditions thumbup

I’m running 7.5J and 5 mm concentric spacers, so about 2 mm further out than standard.
Mine only rub in reverse full lock,, it’s a Tvr ?

I don't push that hard but have been known to stay out a fair bit. I once did 45-mins (in the Tamora) on the Snetts 300 which the tyres didn't mind.

Very interesting.

I’ve had Rainsport 3 for about a year and thousands of miles on them.
Happy Larry here thumbup
