I'm putting the injectors, trumpets and plenum back on. Anyone know what that green wire is?

It's coming out of the loom with the injectors, ECU temp sensor and coolant temp sensor in it on the passenger side bank. Can't see anything to connect it to.

It is not the temp sensor as I have another green wire about 10cm further down that loom connected to my rover temp sender.

Is it something left over from the rover stuff?

Looks like the water temp sender for the gauge

It does but that is already connected with another green wire further forward.

Could it be in the loom for something you don't have such as AC ?

I have an unconnected green wire coming out of the loom just there. Mine is just chopped off, no crimp connector. Have you checked the condition of the mating surfaces? if it has never been connected to anything then there should be a good amount of muck inside the connector

air con connection, if you don't have it or as you have the new rover sensor could this not be the old water connector sensor - pretty sure I have a spare one like yours on mine with the modified rover sensor

I used the green wire from the existing water temp sensor, and fitted a bullet connector and resistor to it and then connected them to the rover water temp sensor on top.

I didn't notice this wire until I was reconnecting the injectors and wondered if I had left anything out.

ditto for me on the bullet connector+ resistor - I have a spare spade wire too, wouldn't worry about it.
