Just discovered my nearside front shock os leaking. So I need a pair of "get me by" shocks whilst I decide what to fit next. Anyone got anything gathering dust they would like to part with ?

I have a set of Konis that you can have. They are actually from a Griff, but I understand they are the same.

They are 25 years old and have done 60 k miles, but they are not leaking.

You can have them for the cost of the postage.

I am happy to send mine but they are 25 years old.
If those bilsteins are younger they may be a better bet.

Hi Trev

If they are available I would love the Bilsteins as spares - I converted my S to take the longer Griff dampers front and rear.

Hi magpies, sorry I'm happy to lend them on a fairly long term basis to the op but I would like to keep them as I will need a spare set when my Gaz Monos need referbishing.

Hi Frank,
I've got a set of green Bilsteins, they were taken off the car at about 20k miles, no springs, been stored in the garage for the last 10 or 12 years, just about to throw them in the scrap bin, but if you can use them you're welcome.
Don't know what postage cost would be but you're welcome to collect them from Bourne, South Lincs or arrange courier pick up

I've no experience of the yellow Bilsteins, I fitted Nitrons when I took off the green Bilsteins. They're set aside for Frank (Blazeaway) now so no longer available.

I posted my Koni's to Frank yesterday, so he may not need any more.

I have taken up 2 kind offers some billies and konis from MisterT and BIG DUNC so that hopefully one of those will see me through until I can spend more time looking at the long term front suspension. What I have now is Konis but they look different compared with others Ive seen.

The wishbones aren't standard they have some tubular arrangement on top part and have every kind of adjustment you could imagine.

I am hoping the Konis coming I will be able to swap in, maybe need to changes bushes and springs for existing ones but wont know till Itry. I've always thought they were a bit softer than ideal so I also got some Billies I am collecting on Friday never driven billies before so I will try both those and the konis if I can get both to fit.

So hopeful that I can at least get going again with one or the other, what ever is left over at the end I'll offer back if they want them or gift on if someone else can make use of them.

.....now on with job in hand...fit the new injectors and RR remap.

Thanks again to all for the very kind offers, I love this community we have, whenever I have made a call for help you guys never come up dry.

I will, and have been, there for others and long may that continue.

Suns is coming.................

I would be very interested in the differences between the two if you do try one then the other.
