I am also looking for a new set of tires, my old ones are a bit worn and very old.
Now I have read all the posts and see that RS3s are highly recommended but as I will only ever intentionally drive in the dry is it worth the extra £15 per tyre compared to a summer tyre like the Toyo T1R?
Also reading another current post on recommended sizes someone stated that 205 55 15 and 225 50 16 was correct for all bar the 500, I have these sizes currently and I have a 95 500, is this correct ?
Thanks

Can't help with the sizes, but RS3 are fantastic in all conditions.

I only (well, try to) drive mine in the dry, and the RS3 perform very well indeed - grip is immense!

Front 225/50R15, Rear245/45R16 are correct for 500 with PAS. For '97 anyway.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I have no PAS, also no manual, should tyre sizes be listed in the manual for any given Car?

I've had the Bridgestone Potenza's on my 450 in your sizes for the past couple of years.
Not had a problem at all with them but like you I generally drive it in the dry.
Grip seems fine in the wet though if you get caught out.
It had 8 year old Dunlop SP's on before and those were deadly.
Having said that, I've heard nothing but good reports on the RS3's
