HC?

Can any of you knowledgable chaps tell me how to tell if a Chim is a 4.0 HC or just a 4.0.
The model is a 98 S reg.

HC has a different spec cam, but it's impossible to tell for sure whether it is an HC without stripping the engine. The documents are often inconclusive, and you can't trust the plenum badges.

Unlikelt to be a HC for that year as I think i'm right in saying the HC was replaced by the 450 by then.

I have got a supposed '94 HC and there is an HC at the end of the engine code on the plate on the wheel arch. Not sure whether this proves anything or not.

Thanks. Guess its not a HC, seller only called it one because when he bought it the ad said HC.
Cant say Im bothered though, S reg in great condition for £13000. Sounds reasonable to me.
