Floppy heater dial - Help

okay so one minute the lower heater rotor was adjusting nicely, the next it was loose & unconnected.

I can't see any specific reference in Steve Heath & I guess its works like a bike gear /brake cable. Presumably dash top off?

In view of the long jaunt to Burghley this weekend, can anyone give me the heads up on fixing this before hand?

Sounds like the bolt holding the two heater wheels has slowly unscrewed itself and the bottom wheel is now free to move around.

Simple fix but those washers between the wheels are a tricky to line up.
