Gemini alarm wiring on 93 Chim
Discussion
Just joined the Chimaera forum because my beautiful red 93 Chim 400 just arrived in the States last week. It has been in storage in the UK for over a year, waiting for it to reach 25 years so I could import. Been a Lotus and TVR collector in the US for years.
First issue to tackle: Mine still has a Gemini alarm but a Clifford 2-button fob. Cannot get the alarm to stop whenever I start the car and the fob does not work as the original owner's manual would suggest. In the US, I really don't need an alarm at all, so I would prefer to remove all alarm circuits completely to avoid future issues.
Can someone on the forum send me a wiring schematic with enough detail that I could remove all traces? I looked through the Heath bible, but found nothing and the Heath general schematic is very vague all together.
Regards,
Jerry

There very often are no diagrams to work to when needing to remove alarms and immobilisers
The procedure for removing what's fitted to your vehicle is to locate the control units and work backwards from them removing all the wiring as you work along, make sure to rejoin any immobilisation cuts

I think the above is correct. A friend replaced his alarm and had little choice but to work Back following wiring very carefully.
I’d have thought if you can contact Carl Baker ( specialises in Tvr alarms ) he might be able to give you some pointers.
This is a delicate subject that won’t get discussed to openly on here.
Hopefully someone will message you.
I’m always sad to see one of these very few cars leaving these shores but I suppose it’s time we allowed the Americans to see what they’ve been missing out on
Do come back and show off some pics of the car when she’s happily burbling about.
