Outriggers - are they symmetrical?
Discussion
As per the title - currently fabricating and replacing my outriggers, and noticed after cutting one side off it is slightly different length to the other?
I thought they would be symmetrical, however the offside seems to be about 1cm longer than the nearside. Maybe this is just within the tolerances TVR worked to (
), although does seem a fair difference. The angles also seems slightly different between sides, (which I suppose makes sense with the difference in lengths of the outer tubes.
Looking a the body, I can't seem to see much of a difference between each side.

Back edge of both outriggers lined up:

Offside is longer by about 1-1.5cm:

Ahh OK - so I guess they are supposed to be symmetrical, give or take an 1/2 inch or so!! john
Makes me wonder how well the outrigger kits you can buy fit - although I suppose most of these replace everything back to the chassis.

.....they don't always fit that easily!!! The land rover lads doing my welding found them challenging. Lol
Yeah with mine as it's not a kit - just fabricating from tube, I think i'll tack weld it all together then put the chassis back into the body to check everything before finally welding it up.. don't want any surprises once its painted and going back in!Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
