odometer / trip switch stopped working

This started as an intermittent issue where sometimes pressing the button would switch between Odometer and trip meters would work and sometimes not.

It's now not working at all and is stuck on trip, so I can't reset the trip and I can't see the overall mileage.

I'm about to pull the dash and investigate as I suspect its either a dry joint on the circuit board or damp in the microswitch nut thought I'd ask in case anyone has had this problem before and can offer advice.
