Hi All,
I purchased a beautiful red 93 Chim from a man near Derby and I have now imported to the USA. I immediately started to sort the wiring mods from 10 previous owners. I posted a question in early April, but did not get much response, so I will try again. I have spent weeks tracing the harness and repairing much of what was cut, disconnected or altered. I now have many questions for the group, but will post questions slowly so as not to overwhelm or lose interest.

Issue #1: Alarm system(s) - Would like to remove completely if possible . . . too much trouble and not req'd for insurance in USA
The car was built with a Gemini alarm, of which the original siren is still in the nose of the car and has the connector intact. When I started tracing circuits, I found an unmarked large box with 4 connectors (pic1) stuffed next to radio. Then, when the top of the dash was removed, I also found a Clifford Novell 2 unit taped to the top of the CDL box (pic2/3). The Novell 2 has a 14 pin plug, with half the connections wired to (3) loose relays and tapped into wiring to the CDL. Also, some of the wires to the large box connectors have been snipped. One Clifford 2-button key fob came with the car. Button 1 opens the boot and button 2 seems to arm/disarm the alarm/immobilizer.
Q#1: Is the large unmarked box part of the old Gemini alarm package?
Q#2: If yes, can someone on the forum guide me thru complete removal?
Q#3: If the large box is part of the core dash control circuits, can someone supply a wiring schematic. The "Bible" makes no reference to this in the schematic.

Issue #2: CDL operation - Separate from alarm circuits and get working again
While tracing the harness, I found both door lock motors unplugged from the harness. I presume this was done to solve a problem tied to the alarm operation However, the (2) wires from the key locks are still plugged into the harness. The CDL box (pic4/5) is an M0462, but has been marked "1406 New Type" by someone, possibly the factory.
Q#1: Does the CDL box include alarm circuits from the old Gemini system that must be maintained in operation?
Q#2: Can someone guide me on removing all traces of alarm interface, so I can use an aftermarket key fob to merely actuate the locks?

Issue #3: Items on the harness in passenger foot well that I cannot ID in the Schematic
Pic6: What is this? Label says Brycrest PRC8002 - issue B. Harness side wires = black-slate & slate
Pic7: What is this jumper? Harness side wires = black-slate, white-pink, white-green & black-green. Plug side has black-green jumpered to both black-slate & white-pink. White-green has no wire.

More questions to submit. Thanks for any feedback on the above.

Issue#3 is a tune resistor. It decides what tune/map the ecu uses as there are a few to choose from and it needs to remain in place. I can’t help with the link but there seems to be a few of these.
Good luck with the work, looks a tricky but very satisfying job.

Last picture is the connector where you will connect RoverGauge to read the ECU signals. The mating part of the plug with the black wire is an earth to stop the connector picking up stray signals/interference when RoverGauge is not connected.

Hi, Good luck,
Although i can help you specifically I am also looking at the wiring, and if you could help with the wire connections to the fuel gauge , a picture of teh back showing what colour wires go where would be much appreciated. I have a similar vintage car, i am the second owner so may be able to help with what it should look like, as as far as i am aware all standard.Happy to help. Thanks
