Doors would not unlock

Picked my Chim up from the dealer at lunchtime after MOT / starter motor changed

When I went to unlock the car (i.e. press the fob) the indicators flashed but the doors would not open..unlock noise but no clunk.

Eventually went back into reception thinking I must have done something stupid ....but no they couldn't unlock it either

After getting in!



Sorry bit too graphic, I know it might not seem it especially to Chim owners, but unfortunately it's not only Chim owners reading these forums.

The car was sitting in hot sun and I think I have had this problem before when the weather was hot but last time the roof was already off.

As the search is not working....anyone had this problem

Hello Mate, a few things spring to mind.
1. The button under the wingmirror has gone. Water gets inside the wing mirror and the terminals rust through. If both doors don't work it's probably not this.
2. Did they wash your car as part of the service? Water gets into the lock mechanism and shorts the solenoids. If you can get in by using one of the other methods! see if your radio works. If it doesn't then the solenoids have shorted taking out your fuse (the radio is on the same one).
