Rovergauge cable issues

Hello chaps.
I've just purchased Rovergauge and tried installing it on the laptop this evening. Admittedly I'm not the most computer savvy person but the installation instructions seemed to guide through the process relatively easily. I run the driver from the disc and it completed successfully, then plugged in and tried assigning a COM port to the cable. Initially the cable worked and lit up when plugged in, however in Device Manager I didn't see what I wanted so tried again. The computer said it could not be recognised, and now on subsequent attempts to plug the cable in it simply doesn't work/isn't picked up at all. Can anyone help? I'm not sure where to go from here.

If you do face any issues like this, its worth cleaning up any failed driver installs. To do this, remove the cable, and then in device manager under the view tab- show hidden devices. This should now show the com port tab- and any devices that have previously installed below it. Now mark any com port and use the delete key to remove the entry. Dont worry about removing anything important, windows will just reinstall it if its needed next reboot. Once all the com entries are removed, plug the cable back in, and you should see it will plug and play. If it has an exclamation mark against it, it means the driver files have not installed correctly, so re run the cable drivers install, and try re plugging the cable afterwards to see if the exclamation has gone.
