how much would you pay?

Canvassing opinion here. What price would you be prepared to pay on the following

1994, 4 litre, 67k miles
Starmist Blue with biscuit hide
Recent (February) 12k service at leading independent, plus loads more work i.e. new wishbones, front drilled disks, new battery, new sump,
Clean bill of health on chasis, MOT till December, sounds like thunder

down (ish) side - all cosmetic;

- needs de-chipping
- cabin shows age ("character" I think they call it?)but not too bad.

... are you still awake?

All helpful and friendly estimates would be very gratefully received.

P.S. you probably all know that the weather is going to be great this weekend - so have fun!

IMHO £9.5k ish.. hard to say without seeing the cosmetic "character" side of things.. sadly its that area of the car that will speak the loudest to a lot of people who come to view...

You are of course right - fortunately the lucky recipient will get a sorted car that they can lovingly polish up to their own standard.

having said that, the beauty of these cars is once you turn the key, everything else sort of becomes redundant

Given the fact theres 98/99 models going for the 14k mark I'd guess anywhere between 9 & 10k depending on just how bad the chipping and interior is.
Though if it were me buying I think I'd be tempted to push for a sub 9k deal.

how much (roughly) does a de-chip cost? - this may help the sale.

Not bored of it - but potential other TVR purchase has got me thinking, so just getting an idea. If I had the money I'd buy 'em all !!!!

Still love the sound and the drive, so not unhappy with it at all

Just got my stone chips done, I decided to get the whole front end sprayed and the price was £800.
That was done at a place known for painting TVR's, I probably could have it done a fair bit cheaper at a local place but I understand fibreglass is a bit trickier to paint so I didn't want to take any chances.

9 to 10k sounds fair,interiors do suffer but hey its over 10 yrs old so people cant expect it to be mint inside,and mine gets chipped everytime i take it out which is bloody annoying.how much did u pay...as sounds like u aint had it long?rob

I bought the car in January from a friend who badly needed some money to finance his travelling so I offered him what I had (not a lot) and he accepted. Needless to say, this was some way short of 'market value', whatever that may be!!!

not that I'm one to take advantage of others of course ........
