Just a quick Thankyou to all those who replied to my plea for advice. I am now the very proud owner of a shiny red Chimp, and can't stop grinning.

I am looking forward to coming to the Berks do next month, but if anyone is driving around Windsor, please give me a wave..

Any advice for spares to carry e.g any bulbs or anything which might help me out in the event of a breakdown. I have read about a binbag for the wheel to stop the inside of the car getting dirty, but anything else?

In the boot of our Tiv is:

1) Two pots of Tyre Weld
2) An electric tyre pump
3) Tyre pressure guage
4) Jump leads
5) Bottle of distilled water
6) Pack of spare bulbs
7) The spare tyre/jack etc
8) Small pot of Mobil 1

Do I use any of it? No I do not. (Even the Oil! - never uses it up fast enough that I can't top up at home...) I carry a mobile phone and an RAC card. That's what you really need...and enjoy!

Oh...also in the boot is...

1) Waterproof travel rug (for sitting on)
2) Travel rug (for covering the Mrs feet)
3) The roof. Always.

Thanks for that, the mobile phone is essential anyway. If I do get a puncture, is it worth me riding on the spare, or will the AA be happy to get me to the garage? I gather lots of people don't bother with a spare at all?

That's right. If you use the spare it buggers it anyway. Its a one use jobby, really, AFAIK. The tyre weld is standard issue from TVR nowadays! (They don't bother with a spare - even a space-saver!). Punctures are thankfully rare. And with a mobile you can just get the RAC out and say drag me to the nearest ATS!

Mention flatbed to the operator, several times. Record it, get witnesses. Mention clearly and carefully what country you are in...
I can bet they send a transit with those scoops that don't fit..

Crisps for the glove box.

On that front we often carry two folding armchairs and a collapsible table. Adds class to the picnic...being able to sit down properly at a table.

Champers anyone?

Golf Clubs. You can get 2 sets in a Chimaera boot. At least 1 in a Griff. - Scruff?

Should I mention I play golf?

It seems to be a popular thread!!!!

And can I really get 2 sets in? No trolleys I suppose?
