Clutch Question

Driving along today I engaged my clutch only for it to suddenly seem to slip at the pedal, thus now having about 3" of play/travel before the clutch actually starts to move.
Any ideas what this could be? Is it likely the clutch cable has slipped (does it have one?) or could it be something more serious such as the hydraulic bits?
I can still engage gears easy and have no clutch slip when starting off but my pedal travel is now half slack and half operation.

Check your clutch fluid mate. I had a similar problem a while ago and after checking the fluid / topping it up and pumping it (to clear any air pockets) for a bit it seemed to clear the problem.

Cheers buddy, opened up the resevoir to find it virtually empty, all feels OK now. Just got to find out where the old fluid went to now...
