my powder coat guy tried high temp paint on the exhaust manifolds and it just flaked off over time.

Would like to know the solution myself.

I read that BBQ and stove paint was ok too but I went with this Victas paint when I did mine.

It required curing at 150c for an hour prior use I understand that the prep and cure is where people find they flake. I'm hoping that I did mine properly and they've been ok for the 1000 miles or so I've done with them.

I had mine media blasted and then cleaned with solvent before spraying and then baking in a makeshift kiln of blockwork, lined with foil and fired with charcoal. The charcoal discoloured mine as I used white paint, I know it's a mistake and they need cleaning now.

Ceramic coating the manifolds is probably the only thing that will last.
As for the engine a decent enamel is the way to go, I’ve had good results with this.

The Glacier high performance ceramic coating range offered by Maldon shot blasting & powder coating looks good.
Any body had this done on their manifolds?

Had my manifolds ceramic coated at Zircotec. Very durable and really decrease under bonnet temperatures.

I’ve used Rustoleum stove and bbq spray paint. Been on a couple of years and all still good.

Just make sure your surface preparation is good.

Had Zircotec on the sag, the silver peeled on the decats, I told the rep at Autosport two years ago, he said send them back and we will do it again.... nice offer but can’t be bothered. The undercoat is still on there so it’s functional in reducing the temp in the engine bay.
I used Simoniz on the Tuscan, got caught curing them in the oven at home, she went seriously mad and refused the use the oven until I cleaned it. Has lasted though, reduces the temp as well, still looks good in white and oil splashes from servicing have burned off and don’t show. Impressive temp reduction as well.
BBQ paint, never thought of that
