so after a dead afm and massive overfuelling on the way home because I disconnected it to get home the car runs like a pig with the new afm. I have a new set of plugs on the way and bought the rover gauge cable so my questions are. where do I get the software and where do I plug it in?

TIA jes

The software comes with the cable. The diagnostic connection is shown here, it lives under the dash pocket flap on my 1995 Chimaera, but could be in the passenger footwell too.

If you bought just a cable, you will really struggle as it comes without instructions? You are better off with the cable kit for the same price as it has all you need.

ah small problem then. I thought the software instructions would come with the cable but it didn't. I think I have to download it so will try that.

Here is the genuine untouched direct software download link https://github.com/colinbourassa/rovergauge/releas...
Never use software from sources other than the creators website

mark sorry I just bought the lead off ebay so I don't think it was one of yours - if only I had known/done more research....

' Coz Im a nice guy here is everything I supply with one of the kits, including all the instructions as you are stuffed without them. Must admit I don't mind other people selling RoverGauge cables, but using my text and images on ebay is a bit cheeky to say the least.

I dont get your drift here Penelope ? - I was involved in the original development of what we needed RoverGauge to do with the American software guys over some years, and as there was no hardware supporting it, I make a kit with all the software (free ware) but more IMPORTANTLY all the instructions and manuals you need to go with it, all based on my first hand experience of the 14CUX . The RoverGauge developers do make the odd tweak here and there still, but the older versions are still valid, as any serious bugs where sorted years ago. I'm not going to supply a virus ridden copy just to piss TVR owners off now am I? More to the point- ,Im helping support a product not even supplied by me FOC !!

I will second that too. We TVR owners fall into two categories....those who are a whizz with all things computer, and those who aren’t. Mark was a great help to me when I couldn’t get the comms working using Windows on a Mac, and then when I couldn’t interpret what I was seeing. You are much appreciated, Mark.

You did remember to disconnect the ECU and reconnect it, to make the car Re-learn the fuelling?

I did disconnect the ecu. But checked the plugs and they are covered in black gunk so I have ordered a new set and will try again once they are fitted,
