I am about to remove the engine so I can tidy up the bay and fit new heat shielding. Whilst it out I think I'll tidy up the engine as well. What stand do you guys recommend.

an old stilage and three blocks of wood one under the front of the sump the other 2 under the engine mount brackets i run them up on that as well

i know theres only one block under the sump as the brackets are not bolted on but you get the idea.

I like that and I also like the working height. I have some steel lying around so I'll give that a go.

Machine Mart stands are great value and happily cope with RV8's and aluminium chevy engines. They don't like iron v8's though.
