Hello all,

Bit of advice needed please...........

The fob doesn't lock or unlock the doors.

Tried using the 'push in' thingy to switch off the immobiliser.

Ignition light and oil pressure light come on when the key is turned but the fuel pump doesn't prime and the solenoid doesn't click.

I've tried the following:

Changed the batteries in the fob.

Changed the ignition and fuel pump relays.

Pressed the inertia switch.

Disconnected the battery for 15 minutes or so to see if the immobiliser resets.

I'm suspecting it could be a knackered immobiliser.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Many thanks smile

Steve.

Fuse 6 is listed as for the alarm, a long shot but check it first.
Sounds as if another meta alarm has bitten the dust, Dave will be here shortly with his easy to follow bypass instructions !

Took the AA man under 5 minutes to bypass my immobiliser when it went. Took car to see Carl Baker a few weeks later and new alarm has worked perfectly ever since.

Fuse 6 does the door locking.
Fuses 12 and 13 do the immobiliser. 12 is ignition switched, 13 is permanent +12v.

On my '96 Chimaera, pulling fuse 7 (supposedly a spare according to the handbook) set off the alarm.

A recently reported immobiliser issue was (temporarily) resolved by giving the immobiliser a good clout which brought one of the circuits on line, A second clout and both were working.

Thanks all. I'll try some of this stuff when I get a minute.
