Meta Alarm - Hopefully Smarties have the answer

Hi All, You may remember my post yesterday where my alarm fob now only engaged and disengaged the immobiliser and wouldnt let me in the car. Well after using a crane and a circular saw i got in the car and just once managed to lock and unlock the car.. then numerous things happened with the Indicators.. (staying on for about a minute, Flashing for a while etc etc) Anyway, i started the car fine so the battery was ok. Ive come to the conclusion that the alarm unit is faulty and also that the siren by the radiator doesnt work either so its gonna need some replacement parts. Cutting to the chase, does anyone know a Meta Alarm fitter/supplier in the Essex area who can do a good job on a TVR? Preferably South Essex but within commuting distance.. Once again. any help greatfully appreciated. regards, Nick

Thanks for youre answer, I was tempted to give him a call but he seems to be in Hants, which from leigh-on-sea in Essex is a long ol haul..

Does he have a monopoly on the country? or is there anyone nearer?

Hi,
I used him a couple of months ago and living near Cambridge had to do a 110 mile each way trip to see him, mainly because I could find nobody local who could replace my immob unit, everyone else insisting it couldn't be done and I'd need a whole new alarm system. Trip down to Carl and a couple of hours later I return with a new immob unit coded into my system and a huge saving financially.
He's very hospitable, accomodating and honest so I really can't recommend him enough.
Besides its a good excuse for a long drive down through the Hampshire countryside.

I just rung a local Meta specialist and they wont touch TVR's due to their 'hand built' nature so i shall give him a bell.

Hi Ladies and gents..

Just a quick posting to say i went down to see Carl down in Hants (Car & Bike Installations Ltd)

After much testing of my poorly Meta alarm it was found the unit had surprisingly 'given up the ghost'.

Anyway after replacing the unit and finding the reason for the silent 'siren' was that there was infact no siren there!!!, all was done and sorted.

And considering i phoned on Friday (when Carl was on holiday) and all was sorted by Monday, i was impressed with the personal service..

So thanks Carl, and another recommendation!

Yep, Thanks mate..

Got it sorted and learnt a bit more about how my car is put together..

Picked up a bit of a knock on pull away once i was back in Essex so (judging by posts on here) maybe the diff got a little loose on the 250 miles i did.

Can get in and out of the car now though which is always rather handy
