Evening all.

Just introducing myself. Picked up a 1995, Chimp 400 last week on a whim and haven’t stopped grinning since.

Anyone else on the forum admit to being from Devon?😏 I could do with some moral support and ways to get the wife to talk to me again (I didn’t tell her until it was sat on the drive. Maybe a slight misjudgment on my part, but it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...).

It seems our new friend has much to learn to fit in to this arena; although, given that two out of the first three posters here call themselves a chimp of some sort, we could allow him his basic error just this once?

Welcome lad! More smiles per mile than any other car you are likely to own. Fact.

Thanks all. Point taken about the name... smile

I will get some pics up as soon as I can, but it was on the forum before, as I bought it from Sifocus.
Needs some work...I’m hoping with the help from owners on here who will know infinitely more than me at this juncture, I can get Ned back to his former glory. I will probably ask some really boneheaded questions, but I’m a quick learner and I know how to use a search function. I hope I can contribute back once I’ve commenced the strip down and rebuild over the next few months.
By the way; the wife has forgiven me...only took a weekend away and a holiday to Cancun to fix that one. Result!

Al

"Ned is a derogatory term applied in Scotland to hooligans, louts or petty criminals, latterly with the stereotypical implication that they wear casual sports clothes."

I think you'll fit in just right. wink

well in mate. Got my first one weeks ago too. Great cars, interesting and quirky build quality and design but great fun to drive. Just need some dry weather

Back in the 1990's the factory workers referred to them as Chimmy and Chimmies.

Ha...cheers bud. Its the name he came with...named after Peter Wheeler's dog apparently, but the quote above seems more apt biggrin

I need to find some bodies down here to run through a few things and put my mind at rest...small things like the diff noise; is this expected as you are sat on it virtually. Its constant and not on over run or anything (I know its fine, but just need a verbal hug to confirm). Also someone to take a quick listen and let me know the tappet noise is as it should be. Again, another owner will take 2 seconds and tell me to stop being such a nancy and put my big boy pants on smile

simon-x6tje- Feel free to PM me for moral support lol
