I bought my first TVR a pre facelift Chimaera 500 3 weeks ago.
Loving the car and something I had wanted for about 10 years but circumstances never allowed it.
Just in process of ironing out a snag list as it will be a keeper and I want to do fairly regular driving in it
Has anyone on here got one locally on the Wirral where I could possibly meet up and have a look at yours?

Thanks

Simon

Not on the wirral, but not too far away in stockton heath, warrington.

D.I.Y Full body lift in 2010, so know most of the problems and how to sort them.

Best car i have ever bought. Keep contemplating selling it and buying a Boxster S, but just can not do it.

Welcome anytime.

Tom.

Hi Simon,

Not got mine anymore but did restore a chimaera and owned for 8 years so can help out on advice etc.

Now in a T350 so still in the mental game that is TVR ownership. Only in Wallasey. Where are you?

Its the handling I want to sort out because it just doesn't feel as planted as I thought it should. I cannot put my finger on it but I want to be able to trust it fully to be able to drive it properly

I’ve just restored her so loathed to come out in the bad weather. Always and I mean always got it in bits when it’s sunny and dry! Will have to pop over to bromborough sometime to say hello.

What wheels/tyres/pressures are you running? If all standard then try 24 psi all round. This is what mine liked but they are all different.

Good shout. Mine are standard Imolas, 15 inch front 16 inch rear on Toyo Proxies. 24psi front 26 psi rear. Any higher and the car tramlines

and behaves like a pig.

Tom.

They're Estorils on it and standard sized tyres I believe. I checked the tyre pressure at the weekend and did 22 front and 24 rear. I took it out in the dry and sun yesterday and I bonded with it more. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it handled far better. I think the damp roads in the short time I had had it held me back.
I will get the wheels aligned properly and have a look at the age of the tyres and maybe go from there

Def have a look at the tire age.
When I got mine a few years ago, it had 9 year old Dunlop SP's on it.
Plenty of tread but they were B lethal.
Back end would let go at the slightest provocation.
Had Bridgestone Potenza all round and it felt like a different car.
