Chimaera assetto corsa
Discussion
Hi everybodys,
I dont know if people on this forum use assetto corsa (best race simulation ever...).
Somebody introduce (mod) a speed 12 on this game and i used it as a base to create a chim 500.
Gearing ratio, engine noise and specs, aero, engine brake, throtle response, weight, seize, etc. It seems pretty reallistic to me, but i would love to have your feelings if somebody is interested in trying it...

Nothing better than a sim,, other than the real thing, I remember Gran Torismo and the gear change speeds on the Griff were very similar to my Chim in real life, and it’s ability to spinwheels out of slow corners was similar I seem to remember
How do I access this sim you talk of as I believe they are axcellent for practicing your driving actions etc.

Hi,
You can get the sim for a very low price on the steam platform if you have a PC, particularely when they make "offers" (less than 20$ with hundreds of cars). You then have a game with a fullload of classics and contemporan, lotus, porsches, ferraris etc etc. Many old cars and all the legends you'll love too drive (le man, f1, dtm etc etc). This is some hugely realistics models, devellopped conjointly to the carmakers and used by them for training/devellopment. In top of that you have tons of mods develloped by enthusiasts that love this game (modders) and then you can find almost any car (there the ride quality/realism could be more trivial. It s the same for the tracks that are laser pointed but you can find almost any track!
You have to keep in mind that you'll absolutely need a mid range steering wheel to use it (t300rs a good old g25/27) no gamepad there! i personnally have a bit higher spec setup, with real 340mm steering wheel, weight dependent brakes, a good manual shifter, triple screen and "shakers" for imersion etc.

Funny, being the proud owner of a new 4k tv and xbox1x this crimbo i hunted out a GPL alternative and found 60s open wheel racing in fm7, i’ll donload this one to and see what its like.
I'm also in love with these old ladys, you should really try assetto corsa, fm7 is really beautifull, funny etc. But please try assetto corsa with a wheel (there is a xbox1 version), maybe you'll sweat a bit a the beggining but, that s a sim!Edited by Lolo256 on Friday 28th December 18:39
A complete list of the mods to transform the speed 12 on a chimaera 500... if i missed something crucial please tell me!
Power and torque based on a stock 500 dyno (posted there).
Stock gearing t5 ratio, stock btr final ratio
Stock steering ratio (pas) and adjusted feeling
Stock weight and weight distrib.
Stock wheel base + track width
Stock spring rate
Stock tire pressure
Adjusted aero and cx
Adjusted engine brake (high!)
Adjusted engine inertia
Adjusted shifting (slooow)
Adjusted braking power.
Asjusted engine sound.
These parameters will all influence the handling as you would expect in real life. The shell is still the speed 12 one (only visual no influence on the moded lowered cx/aero) it shows the chimaera compactness compared too cerbera / 12's...
I m on the mid 8 on the ring and can cut 20sec with training, the car is faster on the fasts tracks than the twisties tracks (wich seems realistic) the car is prety close to a 240r exige in term of pure laptime on these fasts tracks...
Please just ask me if anybody want a copy.
