Hi all

Some of you might have read about my unfortunate mishap where I lost my headlight cover on the motorway after it flew off.

Beastmaster kindly sent me his no longer needed pair so that I could get it sprayed and refitted. I had some paint mixed up to the original specification, and also to a slightly different formula on their systems at the paint place. Unfortunately, either down to my spraying skill or the paint, or TVR not following any sort of standard, it didn’t look right. Given the type of colour, it was very obviously different, so I couldn’t just accept it and move on.

I’ve given up now as I’ve spent too long and wasted money trying to get it right and don’t want to sink any more more into something I probably won’t do that well and isn’t a major part of the car that I want to be spending on right now, especially that I will be doing a mk3 conversion in the next year or so.

I’m really hoping there is somewhere locally to me that I can get to spray this part for me, and get it as close to the car as possible. Don’t expect perfection but at least be better than what I can do.

Anyone know of a paint guru in the relatively local area to south bucks that could help? Or anyone on here who can help?

Really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Stever

I've had two jobs done by Melo at Melo Autoworks Lincoln Road Cressex http://www.meloautorepairs.co.uk/

Neither were on the Griffith and I have no idea if he can cope with your requirements but I have been really pleased with his work and prices and timescales

Good luck

Hi Dev

If you are going to go for MK3 lights in the near future, and unable to get a colour match for the cowls I sent you without a lot of effort and money, maybe paint them a completely different colour, or matt black.

Think you could waste a lot of effort chasing an exact match

Could be an idea, I should have just stuck them on in the colour you sent them in! I have one or two more options, Central TVR are possibly willing to paint them for not much money if they have the paint in stock, so if they can that would be good, or one of my local bodyshops who has TVR experience may be able to do it. I'm just waiting to hear back. Otherwise your idea may be my last option
