I am on a dizzy with Bosch HT leads with straight plug caps & socks.
I dont want to buy MSD or ceramic leads due to short arms & deep pockets.
I can keep all the leads off the manifolds except No 8.
Seems like a fatal attraction.
Has any one tried leads with an angled end cap.
This would keep the lead off the manifold.
This might be covered in old posts but a search drew a blank.

Use whatever fits best I say, have you tried pulling the lead a little tighter and using a cable tie somewhere to keep it there and take it away from manifold?

I assume all the original extenders have been ditched? If not, using one on plug number 8 would do the job, only check it for continuity first. I've had 2 of the shiny 'new' ones on my car break down and go open circuit.

Edited for typos.

I recommend building your own leads choosing whatever plug boot works best for each cylinder, you'll find not every cylinder needs the same boot angle, everything you need is available at reasonable cost here.

You'll enjoy a better result building your own leads choosing the right boot angle, it's also cheaper and more satisfying than buying an off the shelf set, you can also build up a lead at a time rather than buying a full set just to get the one lead you need.

Thanks for the replies.
I have kept the 8 original extenders in the boot just in case.
Fitting them again will be a last resort. The car came with magnecor leads, no idea how old but have lasted 2 years.
With the angle on No 8 the plug end began to break, this was only noticable with a rough tick over.
My home made socks have been fine but keeping the sock off the manifold is the way to go.
I like the idea of leads made to suit & its only one playing silly buggers.
That was also the manifold gasket that went pop pop pop.
Must be unlucky number 8.
Or Damien as i now call it.
