Afterburner results

Bought the kit from Quad conversions - £289 plus VAT - plus a can of primer - 1 can of spray paint and one can of lacquer - it is important to get them painted otherwise the kit looks cheap. It took me a few attempts and a lot of sanding to get the hang of a Halfords spray can.
- then some kind pistonhead talked me through how to fit them through this bulletin board-
the hardest thing was getting all the wires in the correct places - I ended up cutting all the old ones and connecting them back by trial and error - you need a patient friend to sit in the driver's seat and stert flicking switches.
I was so pleased I sent the pictures to Quad who now use them as their promotional pictures:

I don't think that jo public even notices that there is a link to the fiesta. I think it's insecurity on behalf of Chimeara owners. Even if you do know...the whole car transforms the look into something beautiful and aggressive anyway.

Sorry Paul(Surveyor) - I take the cheap comment back - - due to the colour of my car - if I had fitted them to my car without painting them they would have stuck out much more against the background. By painting them they blend in much more and look like they are part of the bodywork. I am sure with the graphite colour of your Chim the lights blend in much better against the beautiful backdrop.

You are probably right - I think by changing the lights to round ones (whichever you go for) brings the look of the car up to date. I am tempted to do the front ones too - but that really is a big spend and it almost looks like you have gone and bought a different car.

Really? sounds like a good price to me - I would go for it. Save yourself the hassle of doing it yourself - mind you once you have done them and it is your own work it makes you feel quite proud.

No offence taken with the 'cheap' comment. All down to personal preference, but now you've shown those pic's, i may just have to get the spray cans out.
The front conversion is a much bigger proposition, and one that creates a lot of debate on here. Some people love the 'tuscan styleee' lights, some think the originals suite the lines of the car better, some do it for better lighting, and some assume that its only done after accident damage.
My thought is that the original front looks too good to change IMHO.

Make sure you practice spraying something else first before you let yourself loose on the pods - it is a devil of a job - esp if you are impatient like me - oh and lots of newspaper - i now have an "arena" red flowerpot display and floor on my balcony!
best tip i can give you is lots of thin layers and allow it to dry. There is a real temptation to go full on but all that will happen is the paint will run.
Oh and start your line of spray BEFORE YOU GET to the pod and finish after you have gone past if that makes sense.

I think it was the mark 3 - but to be sure you can ask quad conversions - they are really helpful
I will see if I can get the photo for Razorman - though for teh full effect you need someone to stamp onm the brakes when you take the photo.
Nightmare I am going to have to try and remember how to link into fotandgo again - I ain't no web programmer

If you do a 'TVR' search on Ebay, there was some fully chrome afterburner style rear lights on there. they apear quite often given that they are the same fitting as used on the earlier Cerbera's as well.
May look a little too 'bling', but if the price is right, you could always paint over the chrome background, and once under the TVR covers, they should look spot on.
