Can I make my Chimaera quieter?
Discussion
I love my Chimaera and it would be great if I could use it everyday. Unfortunately, I work unsociable hours and can leave for work as early as 03.30 and get home any time up to 02.00.
I’d love to use the car as my daily but I fear that I’d annoy a lot of my neighbours if I fired up the TVR at those hours. I see that lots of new cars have exhaust valves that open up to vary the volume, is this an option for our cars?

Adding a turbocharger takes about 12 decibels off the noise levels.
I got accused of entering the hybrid/electric vehicle class on the last sprint day i did.
My car, fully decatted, is now 90 dB(a). Standard Chimaera with the cats in is around 96dB(a).
It was about 102 dB(a) on a good day before the turbo.
Oh, and it adds about 80-150 bhp too.

Hi,
I just recently installed these within my tail pipes.
https://www.denniskirk.com/drag-specialties/baffle...
They were super cheap and slid right in. For now I'm using the fixing screw with a washer at the tail pipe opening to just hold them in place. Once I'm convinced they are the right option, I will drill a hole in the tail pipe and place them deeper.
They are almost too quiet. Just a very subtle rumble.
I'm debating whether or not they may be too restrictive. The engine seems to be running a bit hotter. I may change the "padding" to a looser fitting material and I may also drill some holes to increase flow a bit.
In the meantime I'm enjoying the sophisticated sound vs. the beasty rumble/roar.
