Generic seat belt vs proper U0400 TVR specific
Discussion
Just wondering what the general opinion is on the generic seat belts you can find such as the one below vs the proper spec U0400 that the TVR parts suppliers sell.

One of my concerns is the the anchor bracket (I think that's the correct name) where the end of the seat belt connects to the outrigger as in the pics below. The TVR spec one has a longer bracket to prevent the majority of the belt rubbing against the seat and the seat back adjuster.

The generic brands only have a small anchor bracket and so potentially rub on the seat more. The stalk in the example above is pretty close to the length of the original so I don't think that's an issue.
I'm recarpeting the car myself, including sewing on the edging which is oh so slow going but rewarding and would like to fit new seat belts to finish the job rather than tidying up rusted and worn units.
It's roughly £40 for generics vs £200 for the proper ones. Your thoughts please?

When I had my Chimaera, the 'female' stalk on the transmission tunnel failed.
I bought one of the generic (Britax?) replacements available on-line. They fitted perfectly - in fact the vendors website had TVR options in it.
The issue I had was that the outrigger captive nut had rusted on passenger side and it had to be drilled and re-tapped.
Was perfectly happy with what was supplied.
