Unidentified/unused hole in manifold

While recently tidying under the bonnet on my 96 Chim. I noticed an unused hole in the centre of the inlet manifold (see photo).
I assume/hope this is not too important and possibly used only on original Rover vehicles.
But, being a Chim owner I am easily spooked and generally of a nervous disposition to this sort of thing, so any further info/reassurance would be welcome.

Your a bit late for April fools

But if you are serious.... these are drainage holes for water etc..
