Has anyone bought and fitted a set of these yet?

I've just got a set and wanted to fit them over the weekend, but I have a question about the route of the plastic tubing.
Unfortunately Leven have gone :driving: and won't be back till Tuesday.
If somone replies I would like to e-mail them if that's OK. If you haven't seen a set any further posting in the forum won't mean anything to anyone else.

Hi, I've bought the Leven Wiper Washer Hoses (not arms?).

The fit very easily. Simply connect rubber tube into the existing nipple (careful not to push it back under the GRP!). Feed the hose around the base of the wipers and up through the wiper arm spring. The nozzle attaches to the wiper arm using screwed clamp. Check the wiper movement to ensure the correct length of rubber tube, trim the tube to the correct length (ensure movement through full range of motion) and then attach tube to the nipple on the base of the nozzle.

You can then adjust the 3 directional jets on the nozzle using a pin. To keep things tidy, a dab of super glue will hold the rubber tubing flush against the underside of the wiper arm.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply.
The problem I have is how the hell do you get the rubber hose down the spring? I bought the Leven arms as well as my old ones were rusting. The spring on the new ones looks as though the diameter is just about big enough to feed the hose through, but the clips on each end of the spring are in the way and stop me getting the tube in? Did you have a similar problem and how did you get over it?

If memory serves me right, it was just a case of some needle nose pliers and fiddling about to get the tube through. It can be tricky.

I've finally done it, but it was not easy. Keeping your end well lubricated is the key, if you know what I mean.
I think I need to contact Leven though, because I looked at the old ones that I took off and the diameter of the spring looks bigger, so if you used your old arms it probably wasn't so bad.
Thanks again anyway.

I didn't know Leven did these. Evidently their website needs updating.

Got them fitted and guess what.....they work. Infinitely better than the originals, The end of the blade on the passender side still doesn't quite touch the windscreen when parked but it does as soon as it starts to move.

It even rained so that I could give them a proper outing and.............I could see .....even without rainX.

I've fitted both Leven Wipers and Arms to my Chimaera and agree with Razorman there great, they fit the curved screen at the passenger side far better. Have to be a bit careful since both the arms and wipers are different for driver and passenger side and I had same problem with tubing through the spring (long nosed pliers worked for me also). The plastic spray head is far better than the original holes in the tubing.

Sorry I'm posting a bit late on this topic, but Ive been away from PCs for a while.

I fitted the full set of Leven wipers and arms a couple of months ago and they have been great.

I did do a post at the time; highlighting some of the difficulties I had, which were pretty much the same as the ones listed here.

The washer tube I just sprayed with silicone and it slid straight down the spring, all I had to do then was make sure that the pivot at the end (the bit that levers the arm away from the screen) was open to allow access. The silicone also helped with fitting the hose to the nipple.

Getting the arms right in the first place is absolutely critical and dont forget to take some time to adjust them after fitting, it pays dividends in the long run.
