Temp gauge advice

Ok so the heater gets hot fairly quickly (I.e as normal ) but the temp gauge does not register at all until......the fans cut in then it springs into life and looks normal everything seems to be working as it should ?
(Coolant bout half way in res bottle /canister)
Temp sender ? (Do the RR mod?) or would thermostat create this gauge issue if stuck open ? But heater reaches temp and hot as it should

Sounds like you have air in the pocket where the TVR temperature sender sits. If you can get to it, loosen it until it bleeds coolant then tighten it up again. This worked for me but the problem kept returning every year or so. I eventually opted for the rover sender mod, very simple and reliable
