Thought my 1997 400 was a little rough at tickover but seems smooth when on the move and otherwise running well. Hooked up rovergauge, all looks fine and no error codes but noticed quite uneven long term trim - one bank -62%, the other -11%. Should I read anything into this?

All ignition components have been replaced a couple of years ago. Still running plug extenders but thinking about removing and going to heat socks.

Thanks
Andrew

Probably just a lazy/old lambda sensor. You could prove this by swapping them over but they can be a pain to remove and requiring a special tool.
I also believe there can be an imbalance due to the inlet air coming into the side of the plenum. The air flow favours one bank over the other. Could just be a myth.

The myth is true- you never get even fuelling on the two sides. Basically the system is coping as it should within its trim values, but as Steve says it can just be wear and tear on the engine or sensors. Id start with the basics and have a look at the plug condition on all 8 plugs for rough running for variances in plug insulator colour.
