Headlamp lens diameter

The model size for our headlamps I believe to be 7" however when I measure the visible diameter of the lens from the headlamp cowling it appears that the lens is more like 7 1/2" to 8". Can someone please let me know the actual diameter of the glass lens

Has anyone got a headlamp glass off their car. I'd really like to avoid taking a cowling off just to measure the diameter

7 3/4 inches. mine is a 1998 Chimaera, I am assuming that the lense did not change.
